Player One SATURN-M SQR Mono (SKU: POA-SATURN-M ) is a premium planetary camera equipped with a square Sony IMX533 mono sensor (1″ format, 3008 × 3008 px). 3.76 µm pixels, no amp-glow artifacts, very low readout noise and a full well of ≈ 73 ke- make Saturn-M SQR ideal for capturing details on the surface of the Moon, the Sun (with appropriate filters) and the planets of the Solar System in the lucky imaging technique. The body with passive PCS cooling and a 256 MB DDR-III buffer ensure stable sensor temperature and smooth recording even during fast bursts.

Key Features of SATURN-M SQR

• Sony IMX533 mono sensor, 3008 × 3008 px (9 Mpx), pixel 3.76 µm
• 1″ square format – ideal for mosaics of the Moon and the full face of the Sun
• STARVIS – QE > 90%, no amp-glow, high sensitivity in NIR
• speed up to 43 fps (RAW10) in full frame, 150 fps at ROI 1024 × 768
• full well ≈ 73 ke-, read noise < 1 e- (HCG mode) – wide dynamic range
• 256 MB DDR-III buffer – no dropped frames when reading quickly
• Super AR Plus window (350–1000 nm) with anti-reflective coatings
• passive PCS radiator with the possibility of connecting an active ACS module
• USB-C 3.0 interface (400 MiB/s) + ST-4 port for autoguider
• threads: internal M42 × 0.75 + nose 1.25″ (back-focus 12.5 mm) – full compatibility with the SFT tilter and FD MINI drawer

Technical specification

• matrix: Sony IMX533 Mono, CMOS, rolling shutter
• format / diagonal: 1″ (16.0 mm), area 11.3 × 11.3 mm
• resolution: 3008 × 3008 px (9.05 Mpx)
• pixel size: 3.76 µm
• ADC: 12 bit / 10 bit (RAW)
• full well: ~73 ke- (gain 0)
• reading noise: 0.9 e- (HCG) – 3.2 e- (gain 0)
• max. FPS: 43 fps @ RAW10, 150 fps @ 1024 × 768
• Buffer: 256MB DDR-III
• exposures: 32 µs – 2000 s
• back-focus (with 1.25″ nose): 12.5 mm
• dimensions / weight: Ø 66 mm × 32 mm / 180 g
• cooling: PCS passive (radiator); compatible ACS module (active)
• Power supply: 5V DC from USB-C (≤ 0.45A)
• systems: Windows 7/10/11 (ASCOM), macOS, Linux (INDI)

Saturn-M SQR is an ideal tool for astrophotographers who require a large field and high readout speed in a monochrome camera. It works perfectly with narrowband filters (H-α, Ca-K, CH 4 , IR-pass), and thanks to its square sensor it significantly facilitates framing and assembling mosaics of large areas of the Moon or the solar disk.
